Julie Breidenbach as the interim principal at Thurgood Marshall Elementary!

Dear Thurgood Marshall Community,

Please join me in welcoming Julie Breidenbach as the interim principal at Thurgood Marshall Elementary! She is excited to return to Thurgood Marshall, where she will bring her deep commitment to ensuring high quality teaching and learning experiences for all students.

Ms. Breidenbach has been a principal in Seattle Public Schools for 20 years and previously served at Fairmount Park for 10 years. Prior to opening Fairmount Park, Ms. Breidenbach served as principal at Thurgood Marshall for five years. She was a classroom teacher for 18 years preceding her move to a school leadership position.

Ms. Breidenbach earned her Master of Education degree at the University of Washington.  She earned her undergraduate degree in elementary education from Washington State University and has a special education endorsement. 

We want to express our sincere gratitude to Katie May for her amazing leadership and dedication to the Thurgood Marshall community.

We look forward to the great work Principal Breidenbach will do on behalf of the students, staff, and families of Thurgood Marshall Elementary!
